Nomeda Urbonienė is an artist, a PhD candidate at the Norwegian University for Science and Technology and research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. For nearly two decades she works with artist Gediminas Urbonas, whom with she has founded US: Urbonas Studio in 2009. Nomeda & Gediminas Urbonas have exhibited their work internationally in the variety of venues including Manifesta and Documenta, as well as biennials of Venice, San Paulo, Berlin, Moscow, Lyon, and Gwangju. In 2007 for their achievements in arts and culture, the duo received the Lithuanian National Prize award. Currently Gediminas and Nomeda are directing a Zooetics project—a five-year lenght research on the environmental fictions and models of the future.
